Do We Rob God?
Passage: Malachi 3:6–3:12
God’s concern for Israel in Malachi was that their worship be centered on Him. He called on them to return to a God-centered worship. When we discover Who the LORD is and what He requires of us, we offer to Him worship that assimilates every realm of life.
1A. THE IMMUTABILITY OF GOD (3:6a)
1B. He is the LORD
2B. He does not change
2A. THE INVITATION OF GOD (3:6b-7)
1B. The Lord’s patience, verse 6b.
2B. The Lord’s plan, verse 7.
3A. THE INSTRUCTION FROM GOD (3:8-12)
1B. The problem, verses 8-9.
2B. The solution, verse 10a.
3B. The results, verses 11-12.
Returning to God means seeing God for Who He is. He is the LORD Who does not change. He invites us to return to Him by keeping His ordinances.
Keeping His ordinances is having a God-centered worship. When this is our practice and action, we will give to Him generously and cheerfully because He is worthy. Generosity and cheerful giving is connected with a proper view of God and a proper response to God.
