The Humble Joy of Gentleness

Pastor Verne preaching from Philippians 4:5 on, “The Humble Joy of Gentleness.” The command is the phrase, “Let it be known” because gentleness is a witness of the gospel. The display of the gospel is seen in our work of obedience. Gentleness is a character trait that includes both an attitude of heart and activity of living. Gentleness is to be courteous, considerate, and peaceable. This verse ends with the words, “The Lord is at hand.” Here we see the importance of surrendering to the Lord as Master and Owner. We also see the Lord’s care. The Lord is near and ready to help. The Lord, Who is gentle, calls us to be gentle.
