Our Story

How it all started...

In early 1955, church services began being held at the Fruitvale Community Hall in rural Lincoln under the auspices of the American Sunday School Union. Pastor Orville Cypert traveled from Carmichael Bible Church to lead our church services every Sunday.  In addition to Sunday services a weekly Wednesday night prayer meeting began being held  at the home of Art and Dot Wilberger, then by Frank and Dorothy Conley and on October 9, 1955 Fruitvale Community Bible Church began,
In January 1956, the Conley's donated five acres of land on Virginiatown Road to the church. Our first church building was constructed on this site in 1960 and we became Foothill Bible Church.  Over the years, fifteen men have filled the pulpit at Foothill Bible Church, Pastor Verne has been serving Christ as our pastor since 1981.
I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of  the Lord        (Psalm 122:1)

Today...

Having outgrown our location on Virginiatown Road, we purchased  our   current church building on Flocchini Circle in Lincoln in December 2009. The building would be remodeled in two phases. Phase 1 included the Fellowship Hall (our current Worship Center) and classrooms. Construction began on July 23, 2012 and was completed on March 22, 2013. Our first service in the new church was held on Resurrection Sunday, March 31, 2013.
We are currently working on Phase Two, the Worship Center.  We're looking forward to it's completion in early 2024 and  gathering together as one body,  in one service to give thanks and praise to God.
We have tasted and seen that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in him (Psalm 34:8).

Where we are headed...

We are continuing to seek opportunities to expand our message to the surrounding communities.  For example Iglesia Biblica de Lincoln has just celebrated five years of ministry to the local Spanish speaking community.
